Summer 2018 – Read, Donate and Pass On this book !
Fifty numbered copies of The Undelivered Mardle, with a green sticker on the front, have been placed in Letheringham church and churches along the Deben river (see the working list below) and further afield in Suffolk and beyond.
In the yellow bookplate inside each numbered book, John says:
“If you are tempted to read it,
all I ask is that you give a donation
to the church where you found the book
and then please leave it in this or another church
so that others may repeat the process…
Please contribute your own thoughts on the website
or use #undeliveredmardle elsewhere.”

The idea is to provoke debate on the role of our churches – the way in which they connect us to the land and the communities that made them – and how they will be preserved.
Letheringham Church, which John Rogers says is the “essence of all churches”, might itself be closed next Spring if funds and practical help are not found.
